She retired in 1982 from the First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, where she had been Christian education director for 10 years. Christine was the first female moderator of the Mahoning Presbytery. She was a deacon, elder and taught Christian education at John Knox Presbyterian Church and involved with inner-city youth outreach ministries. She also served on several committees with the Synod of the Covenant.

She is survived by sons J. Rande Stefanski of Cincinnati and attorney D. Kim (Paula) Stefanski of Canfield; grandchildren Jessica, Jamie, Jennifer and John; and great-grandchildren Nekyla and Mary.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, W. Dale Stefanski, whom she married in 1942 and who died in 1994, and a brother, Nelson.
