Jean H. Weaver died Sunday, Nov. 8 in Loganville, Ga., at the age of 89. She was born in Youngstown on June 11, 1920 to Benjamin F. Harmony and Bertha M. Brown.
Jean first attained a bachelor of science in education from Kent State University. She went on to attain a master of arts in hearing and speech therapy from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. For over 40 years, Jean was committed to teaching hearing-impaired children at all grade levels in the Youngstown school system.
She was married 45 years to E.R. "Buck" Weaver, who passed away Jan. 11, 2006. Jean and Buck lived in Canfield for nearly 25 years and eventually retired to Hendersonville, N.C., in 1986.
Jean was a world traveler and actively involved in gardening, photography, aviation and the Lutheran church. She also served a number of years with the League of Women Voters.
Jean is survived by her son Mark and his wife Elizabeth Weaver of Monroe, Ga.
