The Federal League released its list of All Federal League selections Nov. 4, which included 26 Austintown athletes. The honors covered six different fall sports.

The selections were made at the end of the season. Austintown Athletic Director Rob Conklin explained how the selections are made.

“The athletes are selected primarily by a vote of the coaches with the exception of cross country, which is based upon their finish in the Federal League Championship meet,” Conklin said.

He said being named to the All Federal is considered an honor and can look good on a college resume.

The selectees do receive an award based on the level of the selection according to Conklin.
