Hosts and hostesses for the dinner were the couple's children and their spouses: Dara (Rick) Hansen of Livonia, Mich., Don (Lori) Allen of Mount Vernon, Caryl (Rick) Karalic of Clinton and Terri (Tom) Williams of Poland. Mr. and Mrs. Allen also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
William Allen and the former Freddie Akins were joined in marriage Sept. 26, 1959 at Fairview Baptist Church in Youngstown. They are currently parishioners at Struthers Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Allen worked as the office manager at Ross Radio Co. in Youngstown, as a sales associate at Strouss' and served as an organist for many local churches. She is a 50-year member of Ohio Eastern Star.
Mr. Allen retired from Metal Carbides Corp. in 1999 after 37 years. He currently works as a toll taker for the Ohio Turnpike Commission.
