11:40 a.m. An investigation is ongoing into the theft of tools from a job site at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 North Palmyra Road, after Poland Township police recovered the items and got a confession. The incident happened several months ago.
5:52 p.m. Following a traffic stop on the entrance ramp to Ohio 11 for a vehicle with a cracked windshield, Jarrit D. Manley, 21, 14454 Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, was charged with driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia, was cited for an unsafe vehicle, and his vehicle was impounded.
8:00 p.m. An investigation is ongoing into a reported assault with a vehicle at a Montgomery Drive residence.
1:47 a.m. An investigation is ongoing into the report of three sick dogs roaming the Brookpark area. The dogs were located and the Humane Society was notified.
2:37 a.m. Following a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on West Main Street, Jeremy S. Lorent, 24, 544 Flora Road, Leavittsburg, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired, was cited for speeding, and his vehicle was impounded.
3:27 a.m. Following a traffic stop on North Broad Street for two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed, William Lee Michaels III, 21, 7716 Depot Street, Lisbon, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and possession of drugs, and was cited for speeding. The driver of the second vehicle, Heather Godwin, 21, 1017 Hartley Ave., Salem, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and was cited for speeding. Both vehicles were impounded.
1:05 a.m. While working with the OVI Task Force in Austintown, a traffic stop was made on a vehicle not signaling a turn on Four Mile Run Road, and Joseph R. Almaraz, 30, 1742 Silliman St., Youngstown, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a drug of abuse. Because it was a second offense, Almaraz’s vehicle was impounded, his license was seized and he was placed under administrative suspension.
