October 8, 2009
The Town Crier
A honeymoon trip to France, Italy and Greece followed the Aug. 15 wedding of Katrina Carlson and Anthony Cocca.

The Rev. John Keehner officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony at St. Dominic Church that joined the daughter of John and Kathy Carlson of Boardman, and the son of Anthony Cocca of Poland and Lisa Cocca of Hubbard. The couple accepted congratulations at an evening reception at the Avalon Inn Grand Ballroom in Warren.

The bride wore a Kenneth Pool couture gown of ivory satin with a trumpet skirt, deep V-neck, jeweled empire belt and Swarovski crystal beading down the back, which flowed into a chapel-length train. Her ensemble was topped with a single-tiered, fingertip length veil, and she carried a bouquet of ivory roses with crystal-encrusted stephanotis.

The bride’s cousin, Kristy Elmo of Columbus, served as her maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Lynsey Elmo of Boardman, cousin of the bride, Loni Cocca of Poland, sister of the groom, and Kristy Wilkerson of Wrightsville Beach, N.C., Lydia Salomone of Columbus and Candace Brown of Girard, friends of the bride. They wore chocolate brown gowns and carried bouquets of apple green and ivory flowers. Joan Reardon and Shannon Reardon of Canfield were the flower girls.

Nick Habuda of Canfield, the groom’s friend, performed the duties of best man. The groomsmen included John Carlson of Boardman, brother of the bride, and Jordan Petrella of New York, Will Cook of Columbus, Paul Wanat of Poland and Joe Zidian of Boardman, friends of the groom. The ring bearers were Salvatore Mangano and Michael Gaudiosi, both of Glen Cove, N.Y., cousins of the groom.

The new Mrs. Cocca graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown.

Mr. Cocca is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State. He is the director of purchasing at Cocca Development in Boardman.

They have made their home together in Poland.
