The Rev. Dr. Benjamin Lahay officiated the 2:30 p.m. ceremony, and the couple accepted congratulations during a reception at Chanteclaire Farm in Friendsville, Md.
The bride, escorted by her brother, John “Jay” Howard, wore a strapless white satin gown with a chiffon overlay, embellished with embroidered crystal beading, sequins and rhinestones at the waistline. A tiara of rhinestones secured her waist-length veil, which was accented with a matching finished edge.
Violet gowns were worn by Melissa Hunter, sister the of bride and matron of honor, and Pamela McCurdy, cousin of the bride and matron of honor. Also in violet were bridesmaids Lindsay Knight, sister of the groom, Charleen Howard, sister-in-law of the bride, Jessica Kohler, cousin of the bride, Leslie Johnson, cousin of the bride and Sarah Orr, friend the of the bride. The flower girl was ReRe Knight, 6-year-old shih-tzu of bride and groom.
Chad Schoch, friend of the groom, performed the duties of best man. The groomsmen were Jim McCurdy, Gary Kohler and Scott Johnson, cousins of the bride; and Kevin Finch, Dan Baehler and Tom Brainard, friends of the groom. The ring bearer was Hunter Knight, 2-year-old shih-tzu of bride and groom.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is a certified cardiovascular nurse employed as a clinical coordinator with the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Specialists at Forum Health.
The groom graduated from Akron University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He is the director of Summit Academy in Painesville.
After a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple now resides in Poland.
