Glucks celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Ed and Doris Gluck of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 20 with a private celebration at the Byzantine Center at the Grove in Youngstown attended by relatives and friends, and hosted by their sons, Randy Gluck of Canton and Gary (Dana) Gluck of Milford. The couple also has two grandchildren, Liz and Audrey Gluck of Milford.


Ed Gluck and the former Doris Shoaf exchanged vows before the Rev. James Beckham at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Westerville. They are currently members of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman.


Mrs. Gluck was a first-grade teacher at Market Street Elementary School in Boardman before retiring in 1999. She still serves as a substitute teacher at the school. She is a member of the Mahoning Retired Teachers Association, and quilts and plays bridge with the Piecemakers Club at Bethel Lutheran Church.


Mr. Gluck worked as an insurance agent with L. Calvin Jones and Co. before retirement. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Youngstown. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1959 to 1962 including a 13-month station at Kimpo Air Force Base in Seoul, South Korea.
