The Town Crier
Wallace R. Fieger Sr., 80, died March 31 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman.

He was born Dec. 18, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Wallace) Fieger, and he resided in this area all of his life.

He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Kent State University, and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He worked in production control for Commercial Intertech for 25 years before his retirement in 1991.

Wallace was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, and a former longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He was very active in the Operation Blessing Food Bank, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and making homemade chocolate.

He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret E. Eyster, whom he married June 10, 1961; a daughter, Barbara Fieger of Elyria; a son, Wallace R. Fieger Jr. of Findlay; and three grandchildren; Angie Baker, Brendan Baker and Taylor Fieger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rae Kobel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Operation Blessing or to Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
