Keith was born Aug. 22, 1958 in Washington, D.C., to Keith Sr. and Irene Vacca Carlson of Canfield.
Casey was a clinical pharmacist at St. Rita's Medical Center for 18 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his work and truly loved St. Rita's Hospital. He was a past member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. He gave critical care lectures to nurses and taught about how to care for a sick patient. Casey also volunteered to talk to patients who had been diagnosed with catastrophic illnesses. He was a master of all trades and strove for perfection in everything that he did.
He was a very loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tracy Cohen Carlson of Cridersville; his five siblings, Tina (Bill) Wepler of Piano, Texas; Robin (Michael) Martinelli of Berlin Center; Dianne (Joe) Gregor, Vista, Calif.; Raymond (Lori) Carlson of Lowelville, and Mark (Lisa) Carlson of Buffalo, N.Y.; his children, Heidi D. Owens of Lima, Keith L. (Lauren) Carlson III of Columbus, and Craig A. Carlson of Dayton; and three grandchildren, Nathan, Ethan and Austin Owens.
A funeral service was held Monday morning at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Home in Shawneee, after which he was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family for a plaque that will be dedicated in his honor at the College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University.
