| | Hope floats amongst Japan's rubbleApril 2, 2011 - Kathleen PalumboNational news has released the story of a dog, which, against all odds, has survived not only Japan’s devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami, but three weeks at sea, where it was found floating amongst the rubble of a home. Seemingly frightened by the helicopter, online videos show the frightened pup emerge from the rooftop of the home on Friday, April 1st, only to go into hiding once again until Japanese Coast Guard members are lowered to save him. Amongst the tragedy and loss, even when no one thought it possible, life still existed. The look of desperation and vulnerability in the eyes of the dog speak volumes as while no other survivors were found amongst the home’s remains, caring human hands intervened, and in the life of this creature there lies the promise of tomorrow.
