Ronnie Wood canvasses Youngstown
September 22, 2010 - Kathleen Palumbo
Having rocked crowds onstage for decades, last night he rocked the expectations of local residents fortunate enough to attend the opening of his exhibit in anticipation of the works of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, whose paintings and drawings will grace the walls of the Butler Institute of American Art until November 21st.
Having held solo exhibitions in New York, Las Vegas and Tokyo, it goes without saying that having his work on display locally is an honor indeed, and with an immediate schedule that includes a September 24th appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and a one night only performance at London’s Ambassadors Theatre on October 19th, Wood’s appearance at Tuesday evenings opening was definitely cause for excitement in Youngstown.
Delighted to be there for the opening night of his exhibition, I’m also hopeful that each and every Youngstown resident takes the “Stones" throw drive downtown to share in the experience of seeing firsthand the eclectic compilation of the works of this talented musician and artist. It paints him in a whole new light.
