Twas 11 days till Christmas

And all through the house

There were scant signs of Christmas…

(I feel like such a louse).

Husband's laid up from surgery,

The house is a total mess.

My holiday spirit appears less and less.

Haven’t bought a present,

Haven’t wrapped a thing,

Haven’t baked a cookie,

And carols…I don’t sing.

The dog has a staph infection,

The tree lights…they don’t light.

My borderline high blood pressure

Has reached a shocking height.

No time for grocery shopping,

Really need to stock the fridge.

Were it not for my sense of humor

I’d jump from the nearest bridge!!
