Before she says I do...you must

Although I’m not sure what the statistics say about the rate of marriage proposals that take place on Valentine’s Day, it’s a safe bet that it’s pretty high, and with that in mind, I urge you men to put some serious thought into such a momentous occasion.

Popping the question is of course a big deal, but equally important is HOW you pop the question – it’s one of those conversations your lovely lady will have with friends over coffee for years to come.

While certainly not a competition, when her friends regale the group with stories of best-laid plans and romantic moments, do you really want to be THAT guy…you know, the one who, without a thought, just …well, asked?

I was proposed to on Lovers Lane. Yes, there actually IS a Lovers Lane locally. Never mind the fact that it sets in Warren along the banks of the “oh so romantic” Mahoning River…it’s Lovers Lane! While the rest of the details I keep just for me, I will say that it was fitting.

Much thought and consideration went into the fact that I, a true romantic at heart, lover of “chick flicks,” (only the ones with happy endings, of course), the girl who can cry at the wedding of a total stranger, would simply find it perfect – and I did.

So I implore you…you found the perfect woman…you searched for the perfect ring…you owe it to yourself and her to seek out the perfect manner in which to make her yours…forever.
